Kirsten is the COO of The Fork, a company founded by Marieke de Ruyter de Wildt, which operates at the frontier of blockchain technology. Kirsten Coppoolse discovered blockchain by accident. After studying art history at the University of Amsterdam and working in art in various roles, she went back to the UvA for a master’s in religious studies, with the aim of finding a way in which she could contribute to creating a better world. Kirsten found what she was looking for while working on a project for improving digital human rights: blockchain technology. She immersed herself in the Dutch blockchain scene, founded a meetup and started working in a blockchain start-up, inblock.io . Since then, she has been a passionate campaigner for the design and development of blockchain based systems to achieve global food integrity.
